Super Saturday

Excited to introduce you a star in our featured series “Super Saturday”

He’s a power house and full of bright ideas and amazing thoughts at the young age of 10.  Here is an excerpt from the interview with “Swastik Jain” , an author with a five star rating on amazon and the title of being one among the youngest authors in the country.

Please tell us about yourself in 3-4 lines

My name is Swastik Jain. I am 10 years old. I live in New Delhi India. My hobbies are making cars from crayons, playing cricket, photography, playing musical instrument, writing books. I equally enjoy craft work and make many innovative things out of cardboard. My passion is to experiment things and create new magic.

Tell us some of the books you have read and any one author who inspired your book greatly?

I have read many Hindi and English books like Diary of a Wimpy kid (many from the series), Dog Man (all), Captain Underpants, Billu (comic), Pinki (comic), Chacha Chaudhary (comic), Noddy, Tinkle, Champak, e.t.c. but the book that inspired me to write my book is Gulivers Travels written by Jonathan Swift which was a gift to me on my birthday by my friend.

Do you agree – Reading is a tool that can bring a lot of happiness and wisdom to us.

Yes I agree that reading is a tool that can bring a lot of happiness and wisdom to us.

Reading has changed my life, and newspaper reading has its own charm, it keeps us updated with all that is happening around us.

Tell us a brief outline about your book – which age group of children should read it, and where can we buy it from.

Fivab the journey to the unknown, my book is about a person who goes to a different planet and experiences lots of fun and adventure.

Anyone who has started reading can try my book, there are kids of 6 years who have enjoyed reading this book.

You can get my book from amazon kindle.

Share a few lines on the importance of getting a mentor

Snehal Singh and Poonam Jain are the two people who guided me to write my book.

Initially it was a story with few pages. They guided me to expand my thoughts and creativity and also use good language.

Writing a story or a book is very exciting for me, yet I find it tricky to decide a name for the characters and that is also where my mentors were ready to handhold me.

Snehal Aunty helped me introspect myself and give shape to my thoughts.

Poonam Aunty also encouraged me immensely and shown faith in my thoughts. She appreciated my efforts and helped me with publishing. So I think mentors really help new writers like us.

Are you already writing another piece or planning one?

Yes I am writing another book and this one is the series of the book Fivab the journey to the unknown

Tell us one positive thing about corona times.

Corona is a virus but the positive impact of this situation is that we are experiencing a different kind of life.

I am able to fruitfully use this time to chase my passion, I am also trying making new dishes with mom in the kitchen and also learning to make presentations for my dad.

It is fun to see that there is so much to do at home without getting bored.

Any message for all readers.

Stay home be safe and do read my book Fivab the journey to the unknown. Have fun, learn new things.

And don’t forget “Reading is a treasure”
