The event began with a lot of fun while the host Mrs.Dimple Somji, interacted exceptionally well with the audience. There was a warm-up session for kids between the ages of 11 and 15 and then, their flag off took place. It was nice to see all the older kids head out to the 5 km race and complete it in record time. Once they came back, they were each given a medal along with a goodie bag from the organizers. It included a snack box, drink, nuts, and a few other delicious treats. Next, kids between the ages of 6 to 10 started their race. The Multi-Fit team conducted an energetic warm-up session and dance practice to raise the energy of the children. Last, the youngest kids began their race. While some of them completed the race with their parents, many other 2-5 year olds ran on their own! Kids who came first, second, and third in all the races were awarded special trophies to boost their morale.
Such events are a great way to inculcate a love for fitness at a young age. This was the first edition of Feet-a-Thon in Pune and with such a great response, the team is sure that they will do this annually.
