Sunday, Smiles, & Sweat at Feet-a-thon
Angels Paradise Academy and Entrada – The Gyan Bus organized Feet-a-thon, a one-of-its kind Marathon for kids in Pune on 13th October 2019. The event witnessed a phenomenal crowd of over 1000 enthusiastic people, including little ones as young as 6 months old, teenagers, parents, and seniors over 60, too who came to cheer their grandkids. It was a race organized in Amanora including different distances – 500 m, 1 km, 2 km, and 5 km. The age group for the event was from 6 months to 15 years. It began at 6 am and concluded at 10 am with prize distribution.
The event was a huge success and the energy of all families filled the venue with immense joy and positive spirit. The gold sponsor of the event was Shaw Toyota, along with many others like Kotak Junior Bank, Round Table India, GIIS School, Run On, Multi-Fit, Daawat Rice, Sumeru Water, Imparavel Events, Amanora, Amanora Fern Club, RIO Fusion Drink, House of Nuts, Cook Well, Kids of Capes, Viva Fashion School, Kaboom, Libaas, 91.1 Radio Partner, Lokmat Kids Club, Smaash and Sky Jumper. Their generous contribution made the event even more bright and beautiful.
The event began with a lot of fun while the host Mrs.Dimple Somji, interacted exceptionally well with the audience. There was a warm-up session for kids between the ages of 11 and 15 and then, their flag off took place. It was nice to see all the older kids head out to the 5 km race and complete it in record time. Once they came back, they were each given a medal along with a goodie bag from the organizers. It included a snack box, drink, nuts, and a few other delicious treats. Next, kids between the ages of 6 to 10 started their race. The Multi-Fit team conducted an energetic warm-up session and dance practice to raise the energy of the children. Last, the youngest kids began their race. While some of them completed the race with their parents, many other 2-5 year olds ran on their own! Kids who came first, second, and third in all the races were awarded special trophies to boost their morale.
Such events are a great way to inculcate a love for fitness at a young age. This was the first edition of Feet-a-Thon in Pune and with such a great response, the team is sure that they will do this annually.
There were also many stalls for kids to enjoy and parents to shop. They included Kala Kollective, Crayomi, News Shuttle, Letspractice, jus Cricket academy etc. The event was also home to some amazing fun-filled activities like a jumping jack, tattoo and caricature artist, mascots, Jugglers, art and craft corners for kids, and more. There was also a photo booth for families to click pictures with kids. The event also generated a lot of buzz on social media.
All in all, it was a joyous Sunday evening for all families who came together to witness a spectacular run! So rarely do you see such young and happy faces running together, having fun, laughing, and spending time on the field, outside the screen!
Punekars will definitely look forward to the next chapter of Feet-a-Thon next year.
