KidZania, Mumbai – An Indoor Entertainment Concept for Kids!
KidZania Mumbai is an indoor entertainment concept for kids which is like a mini-sized city for introducing them to life like experiences of earning, spending, communicating and more. It is a venture well supported by none other than Shahrukh Khan.
When we visited?
We went at 11 am on a Friday,(10th May). Luckily, they were celebrating FUN FRIDAY and gave Parents Entry Free with all day passes.
What age group does KidZania cater to?
Best for: Children aged between 5 to 14 years, assuming they can communicate better and will be less hassled in a new environment.
Still good fun for: Children aged 4 years
Avoid if: You have a clingy child who wouldn’t want to be separated from you, as in most places they do not allow parents to participate
Where is KidZania located?
KidZania is located inside the R City Shopping Mall, Ghatkopar, Mumbai
How much did it cost us?
INR 3100/- for 2 kids for full day (+ Parents got complimentary entry)
Alternate options are last 3 hours slot, Flexi Five and few more.

Can you take picnic food to KidZania?
No. Home cooked or outside food is not allowed inside. However, you can purchase food inside.
Will there be any charges beyond this?
If you were to spend 4 hours or more inside KidZania you’re likely to want at least a drink, if not food, so factor in a bit of spending money for this. Kids will be well occupied but might just need some eatables too, if you spend the whole day.
Glimpses of the Visit:
The entrance is designed like an airport which my boys found very exciting. They were given some currency to to get started with their journey inside.
Kids are encouraged to take up a plethora of activities right from piloting a plane, to the famous dabbawalas of Mumbai, hair dressing, painting, making a pizza themselves and eating it too, don’t worry haven’t spilled all the beans, there’s much more than this that will be a delighting surprise for the kid.
If both the parents are going, it will be a good time to catch up all talks of the town, but if you are going to handle them alone don’t forget to carry a book (if you are a reader like me) or some music to listen to.
And avoid saving too many kid’s currency, as what they get to buy from it is not so justified and I could see frowns and trouble on most faces after their super market trip. You can use it for the next trip, if you are planning to visit frequently.
Here’s a quick Rating
Fun for kids- 4.5 /5
Fun for parents- 4/5
Value for money- 4/5
Facilities- 4/5
Will I recommend – Certainly YES!
Pros: Great opportunity for kids to explore different jobs and activities independently, understand value for money and relate to real life experiences.
Cons: Pricey entry fee, queues for some activities, and the final purchase experience for kids from their savings.
