Many a time, some events or personalities have such a lasting impact on the world that we dedicate a day to honour them.

July 1: National Doctors’ Day. This day celebrates the practitioners of the noble profession of medicine. It is celebrated in the honour of the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.
July 4: The U.S. Celebrates its independence on this day. The people remember the leaders who led them to their freedom. The whole country rejoices with colourful parades and fabulous fireworks displays.
July 7: We bet you will love observing this day, for it is the ‘World Chocolate Day’. Which is your favourite one and can you name a non-food item that uses chocolate?
July 14: The world famous Rath Yatra begins. Lord Jagannath (a reincarnation of Lords Vishnu and Krishna), along with his elder brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra venture out of their respective temples on huge chariots. Lakhs of devotees gather to witness the event.
July 17: World Emoji Day. Now that’s interesting, right? With all those smartphones, tablets and social media, we have emojis for almost every emotion. And what better way to celebrate them than having a dedicated day?
July 18: Nelson Mandela’s birthday. He was one of the world’s greatest leaders and helped end apartheid in South Africa. Apartheid was the racial discrimination against Black African, Coloured, and Asian South Africans in the hands of the mostly white authorities.
