Book Blurb –
It is Grandparents Day at school. Everyone in grade 1 A, except little girl Oviyam, is excited. She doesn’t want her dhoti-wearing Thatha (grandpa) accompanying her to school as she feels that her friends will laugh at him and his dhoti. Oviyam tries to find ways to prevent Thatha from going to school.
My Take –
“The story is easily relatable and appropriate for children of all age groups especially aged 6 plus. The story takes funny twists and turns as the little girl tries to hide the invitation card and the dog finds it while getting stuck in in the bin. She does everything she can to avoid going to school on the d-day. The little girl’s apprehensions, fear, embarrassment and pride – all emotions are described beautifully. The story is presented with cute illustrations making it easy for readers to grasp the contrasting feelings of dilemma and joy.
After finishing the book, kids rated and reviewed the book.

All in all the book is entertaining and inspiring. An interesting read aloud for children not yet proficient in reading on their own. And inspiring for older children!!!
